2011, the black pine forest on the northern shores of Lake Balaton has been seriously affected by drought, parasite infestations and forest fires.
The Foundation has joined forces with WWF Hungary to support a large-scale reforestation campaign in this black pine forest. Indigenous trees (including oak, ash and forest fruit trees) that are more resistant to disease and changing weather conditions are being replanted. And this is the very best way of fostering biodiversity, too.
